Counter the gloom and dark wintertimes with a strong body and mind. Since January is the darkest month of the year, it is the perfect time to resume your fitness activities and get back into shape after the holidays.
During the wintertime lots of people struggle with ‘winterblues’, a complex condition that is linked to a lack of natural light. But don’t worry, by making sure you are in good physical shape you can bring some light back in your life during the winter period! It is no secret that our physical and mental health are inextricably linked, so regular exercise is a great way to boost your mood! While exercising, your body releases chemicals called endorphins, or ‘feel-good hormones’ which will counteract the feelings of depression you might be experiencing during these dark days.
