This new year you want to be comfortable in your own skin, both physically and mentally. So your New Year’s resolution for 2019 is to start working out more. That’s a good start. But don’t underestimate the importance of a healthy diet in order to maximize your physical performances.

Healthy food is great source of energy, and it helps to maximize your efforts while working out. However, maintaining a healthy diet is more difficult than you initially thought. Changing your eating habits overnight is quite a challenge.

More realistic is to make a couple of smaller changes, that are easy to keep up. This way, you stay motivated and you are able to adopt a healthy diet step by step, that you can maintain in the long run. Even the smallest changes can make a huge difference in both your physical ànd mental health.
For example, start your day with a glass of water with a little lemon juice, on an empty stomach. This simple habit has a countless number of health benefits:

  • Lemon juice is rich in vitamins B and C (good for the immune system)
  • Contains calcium, magnesium and a lot of antioxidants.
  • It works purifying for your liver
  • It prevents annoying bloating
  • Helps with weight loss.

As you can see, even a small change in your daily routine can make all the difference. Try it and feel good physically and mentally. Check out the video of David Lloyd health expert Pieter for more tips!
